Cheetham Hill Sports Club (CHSC)

Cheetham Hill Sports Club (CHSC) – formally known as Cheetham Hill Cricket Club – was founded in 1847 to allow the local population to play cricket at the ground situated on Seymour Road, which was rented from the Second Earl of Wilton. We finally moved into our current ground in 1876 with the Lancashire and Yorkshire Railway Company.

CHSC is a Community Amateur Sports Club (“CASC”) is an not for profit organisation which operates within the Greater Manchester region, to promote, develop and facilitate sports at all ages and levels, within our wider community. Membership of the Club open to anyone interested in sport regardless of sex, age, disability, ethnicity, nationality, sexual orientation, religion or other beliefs.

Our Sports Teams and Hospitality

We provide a welcoming environment for people interested in sport, regardless of sex, age, disability, ethnicity, nationality, sexual orientation, religion or other beliefs.
We boast a thriving football section with over 500 players across 40 teams! We're known for our commitment to inclusion, diversity, and fair play, having received an award from the FA & Football Premier League. We offer teams for all ages, beginning with Reception / Year 1, through under-7s to under-17s, and our coaches are dedicated to helping players develop their skills and sportsmanship.
With 5 men's teams, 2 ladies' teams, and a thriving junior program, our squash section caters to players of all levels. We host prestigious events like the Northern Joe Cup and the PSA Challenger Tour, attracting top professional players. We also provide tailor-made coaching sessions for community groups.
Our friendly bowls section welcomes players of all ages and experience levels. They compete in various leagues and internal competitions, fostering a strong sense of camaraderie.  Along with social bowling sessions for fun fresh air and gentle exercise.
Cricket has recently returned to CHSC! We offer coaching sessions for youngsters in collaboration with the Lancashire Cricket Foundation. Our facilities are also used by the visually impaired cricket team, the Lancashire Lions VISC, and the NW Last Man Stands League.
